Huffman is an unincorporated community in northeast Harris County. Located approximately 30 miles north downtown Houston, on the eastern shore of Lake Houston near the intersection of FM 1960 and FM 2100. The Huffman Area is a blend of recreational and semi-rural areas with Lake Houston to the west, several residential developments and subdivisions, plus few hundred of acres agricultural properties to the east.
Major residential developments within the Huffman area includes The Commons of Lake Houston, 3,400 acre master-planned lakeside community which features 1/2 acre and large home sites, bulkheaded shoreline with boat slips, boat ramps and fishing piers, over 75 acres of lakeside parks with sandy beaches, 30+ miles of nature trails, clubhouse and junior olympic-size swimming pool. Another area development is Fairway Crossing is a Deed Restricted, acreage wooded community located on the front nine holes of the recently renovated Red Wolf Golf Resort.
Other community features include two marina: Lake Houston Marina & Boat and BJ's Marina, a few dining options such as Cedar Landing Marina is a full service restaurants which sits on the lake shore, offers a boat dock and dining on a deck which overlooks the lake.
